Meet the OpenMarket management team.

Jay Emmet

General Manager

Jay is Senior VP of Amdocs and General Manager of OpenMarket. Before he joined, he was President-Americas at mBlox where he led the successful market launch of SMS services into the US market. And previously he’s also been Senior VP of Operations for ATG and VP of Sales and Marketing at New Edge Networks.

Jay has more than 20 years’ experience in multi-functional communications, which he’s gathered from working in senior leadership positions at LightNetworks, Logix and MCI. He also worked at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and served 6 years as a US Marine Officer.

He has an MBA from American University and a BA from St. Anselm College.

Daryl Orts

VP, Global Engineering

Daryl has more than 20 years’ experience leading international engineering teams. Before  joining OpenMarket, Daryl was Senior VP of Engineering at SDL plc, where he led a multi-national teams building software products for the translation industry and building products to provide analytic insights into social media data, though linguistic analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling. Prior to SDL, Daryl spent 12 years at Noetix Corporation, a business intelligence software provider in Redmond WA. At Noetix, Daryl was Executive VP of Products and Services, where he led the growth and development of multiple product lines while also overseeing the sales and delivery of consulting services and solutions. Before Noetix, Daryl held senior leadership positions at Onyx Software, Luminous Technology, Adobe, Frame Technology, and Cimage Corporation (which moved him and his family from California to Norway to Michigan to England).

Daryl holds a BS in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He is an American who relocated with his wife from Seattle to London in 2014. While living in Seattle, Daryl served on the Board of Directors for 3 different performing arts organizations, including SecondStory Repertory in Redmond and Village Theatre in Issaquah.

Daryl has an irrational fondness for musical theatre, penguins, baseball, and Julie Andrews.

Steve French

Global VP, Product Management and Marketing

Steve is the point man for our product management, product marketing, marketing communications and carrier relations efforts. Before joining us, he was VP of Global Marketing at NewBay Software (acquired by RIM), and spent nearly five years at Tekelec, a mobile data management vendor.

Steve’s also worked at several other communications companies such as Hatteras Networks, Global Crossing, Tellium and Nortel Networks in a variety of positions.

Before diving into the communications industry, Steve spent eight years in the Navy following graduation from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) with a BS in Engineering. While he was in the Navy, he completed his MBA degree at North Carolina State University.

Rachael Hannah

Director of Finance

Rachael joined us in 2007. Before that, she worked for Starbucks and Amazon.com in various corporate and divisional financial planning positions. She also spent five years as Executive Director of a non-profit focused on education.

Rachael holds a BA cum laude from Smith College and an MBA from Dartmouth College.

Ronit Peled

Human Resources Director

Ronit is an HR Business Lead at Amdocs as well as HR Director at OpenMarket where she leads the charge in recruiting, training and retaining our high performing and motivated team.

Before joining us, she supported business accounts globally for Amdocs in Israel. She then moved to the US to work on outsourcing arrangements and M&A. In her time before Amdocs she worked as an HR Manager for a wide range of clients in marketing, selling, and advertising, providing strategic guidance within HR and managing employee relations.

Ronit has more than 20 years’ experience developing talent and improving productivity in quick-growing organizations. She holds a BA cum laude in Social Work from Jerusalem University.

Ethan Gustav

VP, North American Sales and Account Management

Ethan’s focus is on driving revenue growth and exemplary customer satisfaction in both the Enterprise and Commercial market segments.

Before joining us, he held various sales management and senior individual contributor sales roles at Amdocs. And before that, he was at T-Mobile US where he led business development and partner management functions for on-portal value-added services. He’s also worked in various senior sales and business development roles at Loudeye, a digital media software firm acquired by Nokia.

Ethan holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Washington.

Paul Murphy

VP, Sales – EMEA and Asia-Pacific

Paul’s focus is on driving our continued enterprise growth throughout EMEA and Asia-Pacific with our teams based  in London, Sydney and India.

Before joining us, Paul was a Sales & Marketing Director in Germany operating a high volume manufacturing facility and working with Universal Music globally. Prior to that Paul held senior commercial roles in the UK’s largest entertainment wholesaler and led an AIM-listed convenience sector wholesale supplier.

Paul has more than 20 years of international senior commercial leadership experience working with commercial sales and account management teams on improving process, developing skills and creating customer value.

Jonathan Morgan

VP, Global Operations

Jonathan is responsible for all customer-facing operational activities of the company. Before joining OpenMarket in 2011, he co-founded and led Hypertag Ltd., a pioneer in the mobile marketing industry. When Hypertag was acquired by Proxama, he became the Managing Director, Marketing Services at Proxama, leading location-based marketing activities, with an especial focus on the NFC mobile payment space.

Jonathan holds an MA MEng from Cambridge University and an ACCA Diploma in Accounting and Finance.
